The next thing on the list is a bassinet. This allows you to let the baby take regular naps where you are, rather than always having to take him or her up to the crib each and every time. The best part is, a bassinet is light and portable. This means that it can go where you go with little trouble and by no means has to remain in one place.

The next thing on the list is important for the safety of your child. In fact, you are not able to bring your newborn home from the hospital without a car seat. So purchasing one well before you need to is a good idea, as delivery times can be unpredictable and you don’t want to have to make a last minute pit stop at the store while you should be at the hospital. There are plenty of great brands such as Graco, Cosco and Evenflo but I personally prefer a Britax car seat.

Finally, the last thing on the list is a stroller. This is what I call an energy saving device. While your child might not be all that heavy initially, they will be. And unless you want to carry them everywhere, you should invest in something that you both will enjoy. They get to ride in style, and all you have to do is propel them forward. While there are many styles and designs available that are sure to catch your eye, I personally rather enjoy the simplicity and style of a Perego stroller.

You will also likely find that baby bath tubs are very important in the care for your child. They make bath time fun and safe for the baby, and take a little bit of the stress of bathing from you.

You are likely to already have these on your list, but you can really never have enough. Some of these essentials are: diapers, wipes, outfits (onesies) and burp cloths. You might find it pretty obvious why all of these are important, but stock piling them only benefits you in the long run. No new mother or father wants to spend all day doing laundry to keep up with the demands. So preparing yourself so you have a little bit of slack is the way to go.

You might have even considered a lot of these items, but the truth is you might not think them important enough to have before the baby comes home. You really should have these items at home before your baby arrives, because you don’t want to need them and not have them.

Mothers around the world will attest to childbirth as exhilarating and scary at times. It can be painful and it can be drawn out for hours and maybe days. But having said that, they will also attest that nothing beats the feeling you get when you hold your baby in your arms for the very first time.
